Let's Be Awesome Together
by Amber
I think we should hang out. Really.
The people who come to our shows are awesome. The people I know in other bands around here are also awesome. And I've been thinking we could all have some fun together outside of shows.
For now, maybe we hit an early happy hour (you know, the one right after you get off work and before you go out and play) or something low-key like that. And, if we have too much fun, maybe we escalate things next time.
I'm going to poke at friends in other bands and check out bars, coffee shops, restaurants, that sort of thing around here. Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter (which you can look at without having to join either network), cos you're going to see invitations. At least once a month, and as often as once a week if people are interested and able, I'm going to invite you to hang out.
When you see that invitation, I mean you. Yes, you.
And I'm putting this right up top so that you don't miss it. Cos the idea of being social with the people who support us and the local rockstars I dig has been circling my brain in a happy way lately. Hope you're up for it!
What sort of things would you want to do or where would you want to hang out?
Speaking of Music...
by Amber
I think it's fair to assume that, if you're reading this, you're interested in our music. So I probably ought to let you know what we've been doing musically, non?
Some of you follow the blog and vlog and all that, so you've already heard that our shows in August went well. Once again, we loved playing for the Rain City Rock Camp for Girls. If those girls stay half as cool and enthusiastic as they are now, they surely have bright futures. The show a few days after at Nectar was also loads of fun. Always great to see and put on a show for our fans. Even better when we get to share the stage with talented bands at a venue with good sound and a fab sound guy.
Those two gigs gave us a chance to start rolling out the new material and see how the new guy was with an audience. We're all really pleased to report that the new stuff was well-received and the new guy seems to be fitting in. Come to the next show and see what I mean. (We plan on a new song per show for the next few shows, so come let us share with you!)
Blogs, Vlogs, Snogs
by Amber
Blogs...I don't usually do loads of pointing at stuff I've previously posted...But the latest post on my personal blog seems to have meant something to some people. Made me feel like choosing to set aside my privacy for a bit was a good idea...So, if you'll indulge me, please allow me to point you toward my latest blog post, in which I write about why I listen to (and write) music that isn't happy.
Vlogs...For those who keep up with the vlogs, you know that my last one was a reading list sort of thing. I wasn't surprised when someone suggested that the next vlog ought to be a music list. You probably aren't suprised that I found that suggestion really, really broad...So, I'm putting the question to you. Help me narrow it down:
What should the theme of my music list vlog be?
Send me your suggestions and I'll see what happens!
Snogs...I just put that one on there cos it rhymed and I like sets of three (and I like snogs)...Sorry to be a tease. But consider the following my signing off snogs for you, lovelies.
xxx
